oh dear! who's getting addicted to the new Zooey Deschanel show, New Girl? *raises hand* me me me mememememe!! Okay it seems like it's getting lame, but I still have some shred of hope it will go into a great direction where it will become a great and memorable show. *Shrugs*. Now I just have to wait another week before I see a new ep. *Sighs*
Anywho.
This is what I got this past few weeks -
Review:
Burned by THomas Enger (Norwegian bestseller)
Uncovering class divisions, racial conflicts, and tangled emotions, this gritty, shocking
novel of suspense heralds the arrival of a major new talent.
Henning Juul is a veteran investigative crime reporter in Oslo, Norway. A horrific fire killed his six-year-old son, cut scars across his face, and ended his marriage, and on his first day back at the job after the terrible tragedy a body is discovered in one of the city’s public parks. A beautiful female college student has been stoned to death and buried up to her neck, her body left bloody and exposed. The brutality of the crime shakes the whole country, but despite his own recent trauma – and the fact that his ex-wife’s new boyfriend is also on the case - Henning is given the assignment. When the victim’s boyfriend, a Pakistani native, is arrested, Henning feels certain the man is innocent. This was not simply a Middle Eastern-style honor killing in the face of adultery – it was a far more complicated gesture, and one that will drag Henning into a darkness he’s never dreamed of.
Sounds very interesting and has gotten very positive reviews. Curious!

Epic Fail by Claire LaZebnik
Will Elise’s love life be an epic win or an epic fail?
At Coral Tree Prep in Los Angeles, who your parents are can make or break you. Case in point:
As the son of Hollywood royalty, Derek Edwards is pretty much prince of the school—not that he deigns to acknowledge many of his loyal subjects.
As the daughter of the new principal, Elise Benton isn’t exactly on everyone’s must-sit-next-to-at-lunch list.
When Elise’s beautiful sister catches the eye of the prince’s best friend, Elise gets to spend a lot of time with Derek, making her the envy of every girl on campus. Except she refuses to fall for any of his rare smiles and instead warms up to his enemy, the surprisingly charming social outcast Webster Grant. But in this hilarious tale of fitting in and flirting, not all snubs are undeserved, not all celebrity brats are bratty, and pride and prejudice can get in the way of true love for only so long.
Excited! I adore love stories. Girl, can't help it"
Bought:
Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it, Charlie is navigating through the strange worlds of love, drugs, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", and dealing with the loss of a good friend and his favorite aunt.
Bought this as part of a gift for a friend. Go read it if you haven't already. It's re-readable, giftable, everything but edible. Okay, maaaaybe even that. :D

That along with Whitney in NBC are the best comedies that I have seen in a long time!
LOL funny!
Oh my goodness, I love New Girl too. Even though I know I shouldn't and that Jess's behavior is often cringeworthy. I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

i've seen epic fail around a lot lately. enjoy your books :)
I’m addicted to New Girl too!!! I agree that it’s going downhill but hoping that they get it together and keep it going strong. I saw the pilot so had to tune in when the first two episodes aired. I watched it in HD through my employee subscription to DISH and have been hooked ever since. Also, Zooey is awesome! Love her!
