Movie Review: Remember Me

Remember Me Poster Movie B 11x17 Robert Pattinson Emilie de Ravin Pierce Brosnan Chris Cooper
Rating: 4/5; Really liked it. Add-to-your-collection worthy. At least rent it.
Release Date: March 12, 2010

why i watched it: A friend gave me her thoughts on what the title might be referring to which caused me to think about that little theory. That eventually led to me watching this and now here we are.

Straight to the Point Synopsis:
This movie is one of those emotional roller coasters that is hard to forget. It's mainly about  a guy who has daddy issues (very understandable) and is just trying to do the right thing and not for the wrong reasons.

Thoughts:
I expected this story to be intriguing, but I never expected the beginning, the middle, or the end. I suppose that's another way of saying I didn't expect to be so surprised by the whole thing in general. The story starts off with something quite traumatizing for everyone involved including the audience. As the story goes on it does not get much better than that. This movie shows you that people really, really suck sometimes.
The protagonist, Tyler/Robert Pattison, is a guy who's not doing much with his life and does not seem to be planning on doing anything with his life. He was deeply affected by the suicide of his brother which also seemed to damage his relationship with his father, his little sister is constantly being bullied, and he's not as honest as he should be with his girlfriend. In short, his life sucks. His temper does not help things at all. He acts as if he may even have an Intermittent Explosive Disorder, which does not help matters at all. Most of the time though, it's very understandable why he gets so upset and it's usually when someone is doing something wrong. He just wants to do good and do the right thing and give his life meaning, whether he realizes it or not. While he remembers his brother he thinks of what Gandhi once said: "Whatever you do in life will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it..." Tyler wants to be remembered for having done something significant and it seems like he's getting the whole entirety of Gandhi's message which I really liked in the movie.
Yes, there are certain parts of the movie that make you want to slap the writers a bit, it's still an enjoyable little film that makes you think about how you should let those you care about know how you feel about them.
 Recommended to at least rent.

I saw trailers for this but didn't hear anything about it after that. Breathe Me is my favorite Sia song, too. And, though I haven't listened to Ani DiFranco for probably a couple of years now, Soft Shoulder is one that I used to listen to quite a bit.

I loved this movie, so sad though. In my opinion it's a very good movie that shows human interaction how victims would have acted before the attack.
