Thanks to the story siren and alea for IMM!
For review:
The Necromancer by Michael Scott (FINALLY IT ARRIVED! took forever, don't get me started on usps's lame "redelivery" deal)
4th book in a series so beware of SPOILERS
San Francisco:
After fleeing to Ojai, then Paris, and escaping to London, Josh and Sophie Newman are finally home. And after everything they've seen and learned in the past week, they're both more confused than ever about their future. Neither of them has mastered the magics they'll need to protect themselves from the Dark Elders, they've lost Scatty, and they're still being pursued by Dr. John Dee. Most disturbing of all, however, is that now they must ask themselves, can they trust Nicholas Flamel? Can they trust anyone?
Alcatraz:
Dr. Dee underestimated Perenelle Flamel's power. Alcatraz could not hold her, Nereus was no match for her, and she was able to align herself with the most unlikely of allies. But she wasn't the only one being held on the island. Behind the prison's bars and protective sigils were a menagerie of monsters-an army for Dee to use in the final battle. And now Machiavelli has come to Alcatraz to loose those monsters on San Francisco.
Perenelle might be powerful, but each day she weakens, and even with Nicholas back at her side, a battle of this size could be too much for her. Nicholas and Perenelle must fight to protect the city, but the effort will probably kill them both.
London:
Having been unable to regain the two final pages of the Codex, Dee has failed his Elder and is now an outlaw-and the new prey of all the creatures formerly sent to hunt down Flamel.
But Dee has a plan. With the Codex and the creatures on Alcatraz, he can control the world. All he needs is the help of the Archons. But for his plan to work, he must raise the Mother of the Gods from the dead. For that, he'll have to train a necromancer. And the twins of legend will make the perfect pupils. . . .
I want to read the first three books in the series first. I'm so curious about this series and have been for a very long time. They sound like they're full of adventure and boy do I love adventure :)
if you've read them let me know what you think!
Bought:
Resident Evil 5 (not the golden edition) $20 bucks (okay deal, considering the game was released not too long ago)
It's sooo fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can play with another person offline too. :)
Borrowed:
I already finished it and started season 4. Gosh I'm SO pissed off because of something MY Barney did :( I almost felt like not continuing the series bc of that one thing. Almost.
Currently reading:
Bible --For my mandatory theology class that I'm taking this summer. Being the daughter of an Atheist and a Catholic does not make me particularly educated in the Bible so yeah. No idea! The stories in it are very, very interesting. Some of the people back then were so insane!
Never After by Dan Elconin
There is no place like a dysfunctional home.
Leaving everything behind for the Island was Ricky's dream come true. When his happily ever after is not quite what it seems, he discovers that running away means running toward bigger problems.
Trapped on the Island, Ricky must join together with the only people he can trust to help him face his fears and return home. But the only way off the Island is to confront the person who trapped Ricky and his friends in the first place. With countless enemies and true peril staring them down, Ricky's mission to leave this so-called paradise will become a battle for their very lives.
I'm finally getting the chance to read more of my to-review-books and this one is one of the first. I'm having a great time reading it! The story is oh so very fascinating and way different than Barrie's Peter Pan which I adore by the way. :) There's lots of adventure in this one and I've already lost sleep over it. Can't wait to lose more ;)
feel free to share what you got this week and/or what you're currently reading :)
