This past week I received the following goodies.
Won:
Signed copy of Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead. Thanks SO much N from Farmingdale Library Teen Space blog :) She went to BEA, I'm SO jealous!!! ;) She's also a librarian so uh she's automatically one of my heroes as all librarians are. Ah, I totally want my own library though hehe One day. Hmm reminds me, I should show ya'll my dream library store. If I could just come up with a few thousand bucks (more than a few probably) I'm sure I can buy it and fix it, etc. I wish, hence the dream.
I already finished reading it and man was the ending good! I kinda figured out some of the twist but was still pleasantly surprised. Why is December so far away from now?!! I need the next installment NOW!
Complete Harry Potter series along with a $50 Visa gift card (I know I entered a contest for it but I have no idea where so I don't know who to thank! If it was at your blog, please let me know! I'm sorry, I go to literally thousands of blogs every week it's hard to keep track of anything really. Since I already had the complete series I'm giving it away to a younger cousin of mine who hasn't read it :) Ah, how I love fellow bookworms that I can introduce awesomeness to ;)
Hungry Girl's 200 Recipes for 200 calories, A pink measuring tape, A small green LED flashlight, a green BPA free stainless steel water bottle and a 34 oz. green insulated water pitcher. Thanks again Katie from Katie J is on her way!!
For review (THANKS!):
How Did You Get This Number by Sloane Crosley
Release Date: June 15, 2010
From the author of the sensational bestseller I Was Told There'd Be Cake comes a new book of personal essays brimming with all the charm and wit that have earned Sloane Crosley widespread acclaim, award nominations, and an ever-growing cadre of loyal fans. In Cake readers were introduced to the foibles of Crosley's life in New York City-always teetering between the glamour of Manhattan parties, the indignity of entry-level work, and the special joy of suburban nostalgia-and to a literary voice that mixed Dorothy Parker with David Sedaris and became something all its own.
Crosley still lives and works in New York City, but she's no longer the newcomer for whom a trip beyond the Upper West Side is a big adventure. She can pack up her sensibility and takes us with her to Paris, to Portugal (having picked it by spinning a globe and putting down her finger, and finally falling in with a group of Portuguese clowns), and even to Alaska, where the "bear bells" on her fellow bridesmaids' ponytails seemed silly until a grizzly cub dramatically intrudes. Meanwhile, back in New York, where new apartments beckon and taxi rides go awry, her sense of the city has become more layered, her relationships with friends and family more complicated.
As always, Crosley's voice is fueled by the perfect witticism, buoyant optimism, flair for drama, and easy charm in the face of minor suffering or potential drudgery. But in How Did You Get This Number it has also become increasingly sophisticated, quicker and sharper to the point, more complex and lasting in the emotions it explores. And yet, Crosley remains the unfailingly hilarious young Everywoman, healthily equipped with intelligence and poise to fend off any potential mundanity in maturity.I already started reading it and I'm having fun reading it. I'm really loving Crosley's voice. I already had her previous book in my TBR list but had yet to read her works. Nice. :)
And Another Thing by Eoin Colfer
Release Date: June 29, 2010 (paperback)
An Englishman's continuing search through space and time for a decent cup of tea .
Arthur Dent's accidental association with that wholly remarkable book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, has not been entirely without incident.
Arthur has traveled the length breadth and depth of known, and unknown, space. He has stumbled forwards and backwards through time. He has been blown up, reassembled, cruelly imprisoned, horribly released, and colorfully insulted more than is strictly necessary. And of course Arthur Dent has comprehensively failed to grasp the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.
Arthur has finally made it home to Earth, but that does not mean he has escaped his fate.
Arthur's chances of getting his hands on a decent cuppa have evaporated rapidly along with all the world's oceans. For no sooner has he touched down on the planet Earth than he finds out that it is about to be blown up . . . ..again.
And Another Thing . . . is the rather unexpected, but very welcome, sixth installment of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. It features a pantheon of unemployed gods, everyone's favorite renegade Galactic President, a lovestruck green alien, an irritating computer, and at least one very large slab of cheese.
I'm ashamed to admit this but I kinda sorta haven't read the Hitchhiker's Guide books at all. I have some of the ebooks (bought them YEARS ago), but still haven't read them. Shame on me I know. Soon, soon!!
Bought:
Wondering what I spent with that card? Well I spent it on the following 2 dresses and vest thing (no idea what it's called). All under $50!!
I wanted to buy books with it but lately I've had a huge dress addiction and I honestly don't think I can fit any more books in my room. I've been buying a lot with flowers on them since I'm in love with flowers, but this time I restrained myself and bought more simple ones.
Hmm should I update with a current picture of what my room looks like now?
Oh and be sure to ENTER to win My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares. I didn't love it but you might.
