So how is school going for everyone? Or for the kiddos in your life? Or just life?

I'm in my first year every of college. Crazy. It's pretty cool so far. This semester I have five classes and those include:

Theology
Math
English
Psychology
Philosophy

I go to a catholic university (Sean Patrick Flannery attended my university!! Yes he's the guy from The Boondock Saints-Boondock Saints II comes out OCTOBER 30 ahhh can't wait!!! Oh this serial killer also attended my school I don't know much sorry) so some classes are mandatory. :( They are pretty darn interesting I must say.

Psychology

I LOVE my psychology class. Our professor is so funny. Even when he tries to be funny and isn't, he's funny. :) I'm thinking about minoring in psychology actually. And majoring in Education so I can be a kindergarten teacher. I would LOVE that. I'm not absolutely sure yet so I have not declared my major. But I'm seriously considering doing that.

Theology
I'm not Catholic, I'm agnostic so at first it was a bit difficult getting into Theology, but my teacher, who's a nun, is really nice. She's SO tiny! I read here that she was strict but she's really nice I don't get what the heck people are complaining about. The material is pretty darn interesting. I especially like talking about angels. It's true that we write a lot though. You do have the option of taking your laptop so there's that.

English
In English we first covered The Odyssey. I love it! I had already read it in my freshman year of high school but I forgot some things so it was nice to go over it again. That Penelope sure is faithful. And that Odysseus sure is awesome even though sometimes he was unfaithful to his wife. Then again, he was under spells at times. So whatever. haha

Philosophy
Anyway, I'm not particularly loving philosophy. Sure it's super interesting but eh. I get SO bored in that class! Thankfully I have an 80 right now, so that's good. Better than failing that's for sure, especially since I'm paying for that class. This is my teacher. Isn't it crazy? He's a priest! Well, it's not crazy but I'm just not used to that yet. I'm more used to it now I suppose. He's funny and nice which helps make the class better that's for sure. I can't believe someone said to stay far away from his class. He's a great teacher and he even makes sure to tell you that you don't have to believe what he believes, specifically about philosophy. He's just giving you information and if you choose to believe that then you believe it. He doesn't make you do anything, the same with Theology. I gotta say I love that. They totally understand that not everyone there is Catholic and that not everyone there is a born philosopher or that everyone will have the same exact opinion.

Math
Now about Math.
I HATE it!! It's so f-ing boring! The teacher, no offense is kind of loosing it. I really don't mean to be mean here but I just can't think of any other way to say it. He's i his 70's and sometimes he forgets stuff. When he's "teaching" he messes up a lot. Maybe it's not his age, maybe he just doesn't care (he does say "don't think about it just do it. Memorize the formula, you don't have to know what it means, maybe soon you'll understand it"), or maybe he just has a lot on his mind. Either way he's not that great of a teacher. The last two classes I had him for he took the whole time trying to explain to us how to do the hw he assigned us. He did not explain it well at all. Even when we asked him he just ....sigh. It sucks. I'm passing his class but I'm a bit worried. If he keeps making things complicated I just don't know how I'll pass.
My math professor totally sounds like the guy from Casper and The Mask with the monotone voice, Ben Stein. I really hope you guys know how that guy sounds because that is EXACTLY the way my prof talks. You can understand how that might me, well, boring.

How goes it for you guys? Is the new school year going good or bad? How is life? hehe :)

School is going pretty good for me so far :) I'm a Junior and am taking Basic Economics (required), World Regional Geography (required), American Studies (WWII - Late 1950s), and Intro To The Teaching Profession. :D

For the last class, I get to go to elementary and high schools in the area and observe teachers teaching. That's fun :)

Also I wanted to say I hated math until I took it in college. Rate my professor was the best tool I could use when choosing my classes. lol

I just started High School. And we are reading the Odyssey right now which I do not not understand at all. And I hate Math. Your other classes sound interesting.
