In My Mailbox

I totally forgot about last week's IMM. College has been crazy! Last week was my first week of college ever which means I am now officially a college student :D
Thanks to Alea and Kristi for IMM. :)
For the past two weeks I got (there were other things but I can't remember!):

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (ahhh I haven't had a chance to read it yet! It's there looking at me and taunting me!)

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

The Devil's Kiss by Sarwat ChaddaAs the youngest and only female member of the Knights Templar, Bilquis SanGreal grew up knowing she wasn't normal. Instead of hanging out at the mall or going on dates, she spends her time training as a soldier in her order's ancient battle against the Unholy.

Billi's cloistered life is blasted apart when her childhood friend, Kay, returns from Jerusalem, gorgeous and with a dangerous chip on his shoulder. He's ready to reclaim his place in Billi's life, but she's met someone new: amber-eyed Michael, who seems to understand her like no one else, effortlessly claiming a stake in her heart.

But the Templars are called to duty before Billi can enjoy the pleasant new twist to her life. One of the order's ancient enemies has resurfaced, searching for a treasure that the Templars have protected for hundreds of years -- a cursed mirror powerful enough to kill all of London's firstborn. To save her city from catastrophe, Billi will have to put her heart aside and make sacrifices greater than any of the Templars could have imagined.

Shine, Coconut Moon by Neesha Meminger

Seventeen-year-old Samar — a.k.a. Sam — has never known much about her Indian heritage. Her mom has deliberately kept Sam away from her old-fashioned family. It's never bothered Sam, who is busy with school, friends, and a really cute but demanding boyfriend.

But things change after 9/11. A guy in a turban shows up at Sam's house, and he turns out to be her uncle. He wants to reconcile the family and teach Sam about her Sikh heritage. Sam isn't sure what to do, until a girl at school calls her a coconut — brown on the outside, white on the inside. That decides it: Why shouldn't Sam get to know her family? What is her mom so afraid of? Then some boys attack her uncle, shouting, "Go back home, Osama!" and Sam realizes she could be in danger — and also discovers how dangerous ignorance can be. Sam will need all her smarts and savvy to try to bridge two worlds and make them both her own.

Non-Books:

That's not me, it's a pic from etsy of the EXACT same air force jacket I bought at a thrift store on Saturday. It's so cute! I was too lazy to take pics of the actual jacket so you can check out some pic more pics here. You can even buy it if you'd like it costs like 25 bucks. I got it for 14 though so yeah.....
hehe :) It's really cute!

I also got this really cute shoe/bank at an antique store. I just had to get it because guess what?! I used to have that same shoe when I was like 5! My mom doesn't even remember it tsk tsk my sister does though haha :)

So what did you guys get this week? As always let me know what you thought of those books up there if you've read them already. :) No spoilers please!

Have a great week! Be sure to come back Tuesday to enter to win an adorable necklace! :)
