Synopsis:
The war between humanity and Faerie devastated both sides. Or so 15-year-old Liza has been told. Nothing has been seen or heard from Faerie since, and Liza’s world bears the scars of its encounter with magic. Trees move with sinister intention, and the town Liza calls home is surrounded by a forest that threatens to harm all those who wander into it. Then Liza discovers she has the Faerie ability to see—into the past, into the future—and she has no choice but to flee her town. Liza’s quest will take her into Faerie and back again, and what she finds along the way may be the key to healing both worlds.
Thoughts:
You know what's sad? I love the cover more than the actual book. :( The story was pretty neat and I thought the relationship between the two main characters was cool and I loved how it's all taking place in a post apocalyptic world. Thing is, this very short book does not give you much background info on anything. It just kind of shoves it down your throat and I don't like that too much. It may not bother some people though but it somewhat irked me.
Some people in that world have magical abilities maybe evil, maybe not. That's the main thing I loved about it. I did somewhat like the few adventurous parts of the book. They reminded me a bit of Miyasaki's Spirited Away which I love and can watch more than 100 times without getting tired of it. I highly enjoyed how it was narrated. We read the book in the POV of the main girl and there are certain passages which are described in such a wonderful way. I looked forward to those the most. I'm talking about the italicized parts. You'll know what I mean when/if you read it. They were just so descriptive which made it possible for the reader to practically see it.
It was pretty enjoyable to read but not much happened in the book. Surprisingly I'll miss a few of the characters. It most likely would have been better if it were longer and had more adventure. If anything I suggest you pick it up at your library then if you like it, buy it.

I haven't yet this book yet but it is in my wishlist.
I don't know, the summary doesn't actually attract my attention but for some reason I want to read it.
In 2011 the sequel is coming out, so maybe in the second book would have more background information.
Nice review. Honest. I appreciate that.
I enjoyed reading your honest, well-written review. I still think that it sounds pretty good and am going to have to check it out for myself....
