Thoughts:
These characters are so darn real! That's what I like the most about this book. It's so realistic. Even with all their flaws, you know people are just like this in real life which is pretty sad because some of these married folks cheat on each other. :( Often I felt so sad for these people because they wanted to be with someone else other than their spouse but they couldn't 'because of the kids'. You still find yourself wanting them to be happy though.
I loved how the book was written. It's written in the POV of each of these characters all talking about how unhappy they are, how happy they are when they think of the past then eventually how they come to cope with the loss of two great friends and/or more than friends. I especially liked the flashbacks talking about 'back when they were all happy'. That's quite sad. :( That they're not happy I mean.
This is a very interesting and entertaining read but it's not that great. If you want something to read for the summer you might want to pick this up but then again, there are way more entertaining books out there. This one is just about a bunch of really great friends who cheat on each other and everything comes to light after the death of two of them. Maybe it's just because it's not my kind of read but either way I didn't think it was amazing or extremely fun. It was just okay, if anything check it out of your library.
One thing I must say though it you will want to live in Nantucket after reading this book. I actually want to hop on a bus and just go. Right now. But I have school hehe and I would be missed or something ridiculous like that. ;)

I'd have to agree with you that it's not a "fun" book. I liked the depth of characterization, though, and I thought it ended well. The more I think about it, the more I realize that ending is so, so unlikely. My little heart wanted it wrapped up, though, so I loved the ending.
